About myai future hackathon

Project 2030: MyAI Future Hackathon is a strategic, national-scale initiative developed as a high-impact response to Malaysia’s evolving digital landscape. Spearheaded by Google Developer Groups (GDG) On Campus UTM, this movement serves as a high-intensity intervention to bridge the critical talent gap between academic theory and the rapid execution requirements of the global Artificial Intelligence economy.

Tracks Overview

5 Grand Challenges

The MyAI Future Hackathon is centered on five "Grand Challenges" derived from Malaysia’s National Key Result Areas (NKRAs). Participants must select one track to architect a solution that leverages the Google AI Ecosystem Stack.

Track 1

Padi & Plates

Agrotech & Food Security

Background: Malaysia currently faces a multi-billion ringgit food import dependency, leaving the nation vulnerable to global supply chain fluctuations. Smallholder farmers, who form the backbone of this sector, suffer significant yield losses due to undetected crop pathologies and inefficient resource planning.

Track 2

Citizens First

GovTech & Digital Services

Background: The transition to "End-to-End" digital government services is a core pillar of the MyDIGITAL blueprint. Despite progress, bureaucratic friction and manual document verification remain significant bottlenecks, while climate change has made annual floods a recurring national crisis.

Track 3

Vital Signs

Healthcare & Wellbeing

Background: As Malaysia transitions toward "Aged Society" status, the public healthcare system faces unprecedented strain. Overcrowding in Emergency Departments and a shortage of home-care monitoring for the elderly are critical issues requiring immediate technological intervention.

Track 4

Green Horizon

Smart Cities & Mobility

Background: Urban centers, particularly the Johor-Singapore Innovation Corridor, face severe mobility congestion. Achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 requires a fundamental shift in how transport systems are managed and how carbon footprints are tracked.

Track 5

Secure Digital

FinTech & Security

Background: Digital fraud and sophisticated scams result in millions of ringgit in losses for Malaysian citizens annually. Building a resilient digital economy requires advanced, real-time protection layers that can outpace increasingly automated threats.
